Scheduled for Monday, September 3rd at 8 a.m. in five different cities, Action Dash is a new, family-friendly 5K run/walk created by Action Ministries to enable people to support its programs that provide hunger, housing and education solutions that help our neighbors in need move toward independence.

“At Action Ministries we say an action hero is an ordinary person who goes out of their way to help someone in need or is someone in need who works through adversity toward self-sufficiency,” said John Moeller, president and CEO of Action Ministries. “By participating in Action Dash, people can let their inner Action Hero rise to the surface, help other people and have fun, all at the same time!

Races will be held in Athens on the campus of UGA; in Atlanta at Piedmont Park; in Augusta at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Avenue; in Gainesville on the campus of Gainesville State College; and, in Rome at Rome Braves Stadium.

Join us and become an Action Hero! Hero Racers are encouraged to run, walk or stroll in their favorite action hero costume to bring awareness to poverty-related challenges in Georgia. And don’t forget your favorite pet, they can dress up too! Awards will be given for the best adult, child and pet costume.

Racers are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Action Hero costumes and run, walk, or stroll to raise awareness about Georgia’s poverty-related challenges. Forming a team is a great way to get your friends and family involved.

Event and registration information is available at www.actiondash.org. Join Action Dash online at www.facebook.com/ActionDash and https://twitter.com/ActionDash1.

Let’s race together to help beat the cycle of poverty. Labor Day. One day. Five cities!
