Andy Rodriguez Places in 93rd Percentile in Math Competition
Andy Rodriguez, a sophomore at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming, placed in the 93rd percentile in Round I of the Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition, an annual competition for Georgia high school students, both public and private, sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Science and Mathematics and Kennesaw State University.
Out of 1,749 students competing from 124 public, private and home school schools, Andy scored in the 93th percentile. The maximum possible score on Round I was 150, and Andy scored 88. The competition included 25 multiple choice questions, ranging in difficulty, covering all levels of pre-calculus mathematics included in the Georgia state high school mathematics curriculum.
Andy moves on to Round II on January 29, 2013.
