Atlanta, GA  (January 25, 2013) Georgia United Credit Union invites you to participate in their annual "CAN HUNGER" food drive to benefit local food banks in our communities, now through March 31. Many of our neighbors are hungry and food bank donations are desperately needed.

Please drop off a canned good at the Georgia United Branch nearest you or make a $1 donation and we'll purchase a food item for you. All members who donate will be entered into a drawing to win an iPad.

The most requested/needed items are:

• Peanut butter
• Canned tuna & chicken
• Canned fruit & vegetables
• Canned soups, stews and pasta
• 100% fruit juice
• Boxed pasta and rice

Last year, our goal was to collect over 4 tons of food (9,000+ cans) during the 2 month collection period and Georgia United DOUBLED our goal and collected (18,375 cans) 9.1 tons! (Using these Metrics: One 16 oz. can or box = 1 lb.; $1.00 donation= 1 lb.; 1 ton = 2,000 pounds) This year, we're going to top 9 tons! Will you help us?
