Protest County/City Water Wars

A protest will be held this Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 2:00PM at the County Courthouse to protest the decision of Mayor Ford Gravitt to cut off all raw water sales to the County as of October 1, 2012.  This move could potentially increase the water bills of the citizens of the County by 400%. If you are concerned about this possible outcome, you need to show the Mayor your displeasure with his strong-arm tactics!

How silly! Is this the direction the Forsyth County Tea Party is moving? Protesting like a bunch of hippies and liberals? Tea Party Chairman Hal Schneider has now organized "Occupy Cumming".

But, Hal did endorse Jim Boff, the guy that wanted to spend your tax money on a golf course, for a just few people unhappy about the owners of the golf course wanting to excercise their rights to sell private propoerty.

Let's not forget he also endorsed Cindy Mills, the new commissioner that supported borrowing $100,000,000.00 to buy more parks that also caused our taxes to go up to pay for these parks, water parks, recreation centers (that compete with private bisiness) and walking trails. Cindy is the one that profited on real estate deals that were bought with that borrowed money.

Yes indeed - this Tea Party Chairman is very effective in getting his agendas passed but it is a shame they are liberal Democrat policies like Obama, Biden and Pelosi push down our throats!

Let's all go down to Hal's Occupy Cumming and see how many show up to this juvenile foot stomping tantrum.

For those who are not aware, J. Redd = Patrick Bell. The same Patrick Bell who his fighting as hard as he can to transfer 10's of millions of dollars from the county residents to the Mayor of Cumming through confiscatory water rates. The Tea Party is fighting for fiscal responsibility while Patrick is fighting for political cronyism and payback!

Once again Patrick Bell is trying to divert attention from the real issues involved in the water contract by attacking on the messenger. Why does he not rather tell us why he thinks it is good for the county to give the Mayor what he demands?

The people of Forsyth County have long suffered from high inappropriate payments to the city at the insistence of the Mayor. It’s about time that more county people become active in exposing the facts and fighting for fair agreements between the county and city.

As can be seen, Patrick is just repeating his rant posted in CummingHome.com on August 26, 2012. He then said: “I still want Hal to answer the people here on this site how he applied the Tea Party principles when his Forsyth County Tea Party endorsed one candidate that wanted to buy a golf course, with taxpayer money, to solve a land use issue and how he endorsed a candidate that supported the $100 million green space bond and the added expenses it has caused.”

The City of Cumming controls Forsyth County's portion of OUR Lake Lanier Water Storage Allocation (WSA) because it's "Superior" Population leveraged it back when "Temporary" WSA's were granted, them pending the Army Corp. of Engineers (ACE) "revision" of Lake Laniers "Operations Manual" proposed over 30 years ago...starting the "Tri-State Water Wars" which stalled its progress!

That revision is finally being undertaken today of 2012 (as mandated of the 11th Dist. Court of Appeals for their decision overturning "Magnusen '08" being upheld of-late by the United States Supreme Court) and Forsyth County's population - 175,000 and projected to reach 340,000 by 2060 - is far "Superior" the City of Cumming at +/- 4,800. Its "Service-Delivery" accounts for 65% of all Forsyth County Water Use and WILL deserve its OWN "Permanent" WSA upon completion of that review, but that will NOT happen if Forsyth County remains "Subservient" and under-contract -- status-quo of the last three decades -- as the City of Cumming rather desires, and therein lies the problem at-hand!

A "New Day" is forthcoming for ACE's review due January 2013, and Forsyth County must NOT be "Subservient" to the City of Cumming -- its "Enterprise System" unfairly evolved in monopolistic avarice and greed acting only to divide Us -- when ACE and EPD rather regard Forsyth County and the City of Cumming otherwise: As PARTNERS in the equitable provision of "State Waters" to ALL its Citizen-Residents and Business.
