To me this is a no-brainer. I have no problem with gun ownership, but I have a big problem with people carrying guns into the same places where they drink. I've known many guys I wouldn't trust with a dish towel once they'd had a few, let alone a firearm.

This is an insane idea. End of story.

I guess they haven't thought this thru yet. Do you not realize these two don't go together. Plenty of accidents waiting to happen so I hope the police will be on standby.

In this country, more people die from drunk driving than drunk firearm accidents. In fact, more people die from drunk driving than all firearm related deaths. The majority of firearm deaths are caused by criminals. A lot of those criminals are "restricted by gun laws" so of course, they aren't allowed to have firearms. Yea! Whatever!

You never know who's drunk and driving toward you or entering an intersection. At least you are forewarned before entering this Bar & Range.
Don't like it? Don't go. Don't want to risk dying on the road from drunk driving? Stay home.

Who on earth would insure this?

Hell has just frozen over, but I agree with Brian. The "controversy" is simply the Atlanta media having a slow news day. These two businesses could be right next to each other in a shopping center, and it wouldn't be that big of a deal. The range will make you sign that you acknowledge that once you enter the bar, you cannot come to the range. I would just about guarantee that range will be one of the most sober ones out there. All of the above being said, what company would write the insurance for this? If something ever did go wrong, all you would hear would be the same ignorance we're hearing on the news (i.e. people thinking it's going to be okay to shoot a little, drink a little, shoot a little). Mixing these two genres is usually done at more of a hunting club outside suburbia, not right next to a neighborhood. On the other hand, if I were to move to Powder Springs, this would be one of the first neighborhoods I would take a look at.

According to the policy there, once a person goes into the lounge and buys a drink, they are not allowed back on the range. if they enforce that, then I would imagine that it would be no different tha nsomeone going to a lounge or bar and watching a ballgame while having a few beers. It's a novel idea. Got to give them that.

So once you have a drink you are no longer permitted on the range with your weapon...which means you can now only shoot the folks in the bar you are tossing a few back with.....am I understanding this right. If that's the case I think this is a great idea!

I think it's a great idea. Go shooting with your buddies, then relax with a couple beers. I don't see the problem.

I thought South West Atlanta already did this-killing of the day news. Are they going to have a strip club moving next door too! Of course a day care down the street would be interesting, now that the parent is drunk, with a gun, driving and picking up their kids. Cars and booze is bad enough-please not guns. Their or in the field-booze doesn't mix with shooting or fishing.
