Forsyth County Residents Recycle Loads of Electronics

The Keep Forsyth County Beautiful recycling event collected more than 46,000 pounds of old electronics.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, hundreds of Forsyth County residents showed up at the Cumming Fairgrounds with vehicles full of old computer monitors, television sets and numerous other electronic gadgets.

The electronics recycling event hosted by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) took in 46,665 pounds of electronics, including 251 personal computers, 133 monitors and 110 televisions.

“Recycling these items truly makes a difference toward preserving a clean environment for our community," said Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright. “We appreciate the residents who came out to the event to recycle their electronics and we extend our thanks to all of the volunteers who helped with the event.”

According to Wright, KFCB hosts two electronics recycling events every year.

“These events provide an opportunity for citizens to get rid of those unwanted electronics around their house, and to do so in an environmentally-friendly way,” she said.
