Gingrich Back in Cumming This Weekend
The GOP presidential candidate returns to Cumming this Sunday appearing at First Redeemer Church.
Newt Gingrich will be back in Cumming this Sunday morning, Feb. 26, making a scheduled appearance at First Redeemer Church.
This will be his second visit to Cumming in a week. Last Saturday he and former presidential hopeful Herman Cain attended the Forsyth County GOP mass precinct meeting in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at South Forsyth High School.
"He had such big crowds last weekend that they had to turn people away," said Susan Meyers, Gingrich's Southeast Communications Director. "He felt warm-hearted with the turnout he got, he decided to come back and see his supporters again."
Republican Party Vice Chairman Brad Wilkins, who worked security Saturday, said the PAC seats about 400. At least 100 more lined each wall and some 50-100 cars were turned away at the parking lot.
Gingrich is expected to address the congregation at First Redeemer at 10:30 a.m. in the church's Worship Center that sits about 2300 people.
It may appear that the former Speaker of the House is following in the foot steps of his opponent Rick Santorum who made a campaign stop at the church last Sunday. But according to Meyers, that is not the case.
"He also has a very good relationship with Rev. Richard Lee [Senior Pastor] and wanted to come speak to his [Lee's] congregates," she said.
Following his appearance on Sunday, Gingrich heads to Milner, Georgia to speak at Rock Springs Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m.

Plan is for 2 overflow areas to accommodate up to 2,000 more. Also anyone will be able to view the service “LIVE” on the internet at (HTTP://WWW.FIRSTREDEEMER.ORG/INDEX.HTM), choose “WATCH ONLINE” feature from the “HOME PAGE” tab. This Church is very Patriotic thus supports our GOD GIVEN RIGHTS to all Americans. In fact Dr. Lee pronounced his desire to have President Obama visit. We need more PATRIOTS like Dr. Lee to remind Americans that our Founding Father's RELIGIONS AND CHURCHES s were the biggest and perhaps the most vocal faction in developing the idea for REBELLION AGAINST THE BRITISH. The fact is, they took the BIBLE as the basis for ALL our founding documents. AMERICANS HAVE BEEN FED A BILL OF GOODS regarding "SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE". Founding Fathers protected the people from another “Church of America" by not KEEPING CHURCHES OUT OF GOVERNMENT but KEEPING GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE CHURCH BUSINESS. Read David Barton's "ORIGINAL INTENT". You will discover original Documentation that of the 204 individuals recognized as the Founding Fathers, ALL, EVERY LAST ONE was a Christian whose "HONOR" was part of Church Membership in the Churches of our new nation. FRC is to be commended for being bold, stepping out for America, for always giving God thanks for AMERICA, "THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH!" Just a small reminder for you, New England State Borders reflected CONGREGATIONAL SHAPES of the Churches in early America. WAKE UP AMERICA!

Ralph Stepp - Actually that is not correct. James Madison is the father of separation of Church and State. It was opinion that any government and church cooperation would eventually lead to the corruption of the church. Look at what has happened to the Catholic Church. My friend Kevin R. C. Gutzman has written a great book you should read. http://www.amazon.com/James-Madison-Making-America-Gutzman/dp/0312625006/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330082198&sr=8-1
