Home Grown Fun at Warbington Farm

Just a stone's throw from the big city of Cumming you'll find big country fun at the intersection of Little Mill and Crow roads in North Forsyth County.

Warbington Farms is a family owned working farm that started over 35 years ago here in Forsyth County. When Rose Acre Farms bought Crystal Farms a few months back the Warbington’s suddenly and unexpectedly found themselves without a contract.

Delana Heard, farmer Lanier Warbington’s daughter, laughs and says, “We didn’t know what in the world we were going to do with all the strawberries we planted for the season!” In April they opened the farm to the public and the response was overwhelming. Not only did they sell all of their strawberries, they had to go out at least once a week and bring in 100 to 200 cases of strawberries to sell. They are planning on having four times as many strawberries for next season.

After seeing the interest Forsyth residents had in picking their own produce they decided the best way to sustain the farm was to cater to area families and have fun doing it. In addition to letting the public stock up on fresh fruits and veggies the farm started offering summer story time, “Hey” rides, arts and crafts, a small petting zoo and water attractions to keep cool.

Warbington Farms has big plans for family fun this fall. They are organizing “Screen on the Green," and will be offering free family movies out in the field. Their “Pumpkinpalooza” is scheduled for October 22. In addition, their pumpkin patch will be open throughout the week and kids will be able to go into the field and pick their own pumpkins and of course there will be “Hey” rides.

The farm has also been helping children plant their own pumpkins and crops. They get to watch them grow and harvest them. What an awesome way to learn about and appreciate fruits and vegetables.

Warbington Farms would love to host your wedding, family reunion, birthday party, company picnic, 5K, tractor show, school field trip or whatever else you can come up with! To schedule an event contact Delana Heard at 404-983-6945 or delana@warbingtonfarms.com.
