Is Powerball's $325 Million Jackpot Enough?

How big a prize do you need before you decide to play the lottery?

Is one-third of a billion dollars enough money for you to go out and buy lottery tickets? Powerball's estimated prize in tonight drawing is $325 million, which is about $40 million off the all-time record, according to Lottery Universe.

The cash prize option is $212.8 million. The cost of a ticket is $2.

The odds of getting a ticket with the winning numbers is less than 1 in 175 million.

Are you a regular player or one of those people who wait until it gets over $200 or $300 million before buying a ticket? And if you were to win, what would you do with all that money?

Ah...no it's not! In fact, the chances of winning that are already nil, get even worse as the pot grows. I think the lottery scam is like all other profit scams...sell it to the masses, get them to worship it and fleece 'em while they smile and thank you. If you play $5 a week for a year, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY SOMETHING YOU NEED with the $260 you saved.

I play quite often. To win would be life changing, no doubt. I could make sure my family was set, open my own business, and help a few freinds with steady work there. Then I'd go see the places across the country that I couldn't see, while driving. I've been trucking for 28 years, seen a lot of beautiful America, but never got to enjoy it. What can you actually see at 65-70mph? Especially when driving? Time to collect my winnings and enjoy! Good luck!

Just noticing that even with such a large prize, the odds of winning make a ticket still worth less than the price. If you find it entertaining to have a ticket and anticipate winning, fine, but rationally, it's not worth it.

If I win , I would use all my money to get all 4 of my kids out of foster home.........
My oldest , wil be 9 y.o in december.......
My oldest son is 7 y.o ........
My youngest son is 18 months old and my youngest daughter is only 5 months old and the state took her from the hospital.......she hasn't came home yet .....
In january 11 2012 ....... my three oldest kids were taken from me and my wife .......
The state had claimed that I had used corporal punishment on my now 7 y.o son .....
Two things happened that week for my son .......
On jan. 7 th ..... I had smacked my sons bottom due to the fact he was sayin the ' n ' word ..... I had talked to him many times that he wasn't allowed to say that word .....
Also , on tues....jan. 10 , my sons school nurse had called me and my wife yet again explaining that he was once again beaten up at school .......
The followwing day ...........dyfys came and removed all our kids .........
Two months later , I was successfully charged as a child abuser....
If anyone would like to reach out to me and my family .....
My phone # is 609 792 1886.......
Also , its been my understanding that the parents can only be wrong and everyone else can only be right .........

I would disappear, keeping my current lawyer and financial advisor, remotely pay off my immediate family's debt and found a trust to cover their basic living expenses. I would then invest a majority of the remainder in long term foreign investments while placing my liquid portion in a money market account.

I would love to be a private benefactor to some people who work hard everyday and still struggle to even put food on their tables. I wouldn't want them to know who did it or get any recognition for it --just the feel good factor would be enough for me. Say pay off someones mortgage who is going to lose it due to foreclosure ...something like that would be HUGE!!

The lottery is a self-imposed tax. Wouldn't it be nice if all taxes were optional?

Only when the pot gets real large

I would give away much of what I won. Figure you'll end up with about $106 million after taxes. Since unless I just waste the money away, there is no way I could spend all of that money. I would be more of a random giver. People that need help would be my first charity, but the gift would be anonymous. I would be generous to those that serve me, like waiters/waitresses, public servants, but also to people at random. I want to be able to make someones day, if not life, better. Random acts of kindness. It's not my money anyway...

If I were to win, I would praise The Lord. Then me & my husband would buy our homeless mothers a house of their own with maids and buy my mother in law a pit bull dog (cause they are awesome).
