Just Where Am I Supposed to Vote on Tuesday?
Polls in Forsyth County will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 for the special election on SPLOST VII, but several voting locations have changed. The list below will point you in the right direction.
On Tuesday, Nov. 8 many Forsyth County residents will head to the polls to cast their vote in favor for or against SPLOST VII, the $200 million special purpose local option sales tax referendum, that will be on the ballot in the county's special election.
Some of the items the proceeds of SPLOST VII would fund include, a new jail, courthouse expansion, transportation projects, scheduled replacement of fire engines, animal shelter, expansion and renovation of the Sharon Forks Library, and emergency raw water generator.
A recent town hall meeting/debate was held at the Forsyth County Senior Services Center as pro- and anti-sales tax forces squared off to debate the merits of SPLOST VII.

"We have been getting some calls regarding the changes of the polling locations when they started to get their precinct cards," said Barbara Luth, supervisor of Voter Registrations and Elections. "Because we sent precinct cards to everybody that had it changed."

If you are unsure of where you need to vote call 770.781.2118, ext. 3, for more details or check the county Web site. Voters must bring one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification. There is no Absentee, Early or Advance Voting the Monday prior to any election.
The Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Department reports, the final absentee voting totals as of Friday, Nov. 4:
- Advance Voting (in person) - 2742
- Ballots by Mail Received - 79 (99 ballots were mailed out)
- Early Voting (in person) - 685
