Two Dead in Quadruple Shooting in Church Parking Lot During Funeral - Stone Mountain-Redan Patch

Two people have been killed and two others injured in a Thursday afternoon shootout during a funeral in the parking lot of a Stone Mountain-area church.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., shots were fired during a funeral at Victory for the World Church on N. Hairston Road, according to media reports.

No arrests have been made, according to DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish. 

The 1 p.m. funeral was being held for Ryan Devon Guider, who was shot to death on May 26. His mother is a member of the church.  

Police say the man suspected in Guider's death, Marcus Ventress, 28, may be connected to Thursday's shootings, and may be one of the dead.

Man Arrested for Statutory Rape - Dunwoody Patch

A 22-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for having sex with a 13-year-old girl, according to Dunwoody Police.

Dunwoody detectives secured a warrant on the man for statutory rape. Police reported that the 13-year-old girl became pregnant as a result of the intercourse.

The incident took place on Peachtree Parkway, according to police.

Man Sentenced for Northview High Bomb Threat - Johns Creek Patch

The man who placed school officials, parents and students in fear by mailing false bomb threats to several local area middle and high schools, including Northview High School in Johns Creek, was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Willis B. Hunt Jr.

Valtrez Stewart, 29, of Chicago pleaded guilty to these charges on Jan. 27. He was sentenced to three years and 10 months in federal prison to be followed by three years of supervised release. 

Atlanta Man Charged with Forging Bills, Stealing Shirts - Alpharetta-Milton Patch

A suspected shoplifter at Dillard's gave the loss prevention officer so much trouble that North Point Mall security officers had to help subdue and handcuff the man in an incident on June 2.

The Dillard employee said he watched the suspect conceal several items in a bag, and left the store without paying for them.

A check of the bag revealed 18 shirts that cost $1,633.

An Alpharetta police officer searched the suspect and discovered a counterfeit $20 and $5 bill.

The suspect, who called himself "Martin Brown," said, "I just found those."

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a  white pick-up truck.

On May 26, surveillance video captured the vehicle entering the business parking lot of Samuel Son & Company, a producer of aluminum, carbon steel and stainless steel products, located at 1900 Grassland Parkway in south Forsyth County, according to authorities. The occupants of the vehicle are suspected of taking plates of stainless steel – valued between $5,000 and $10,000.
