Siblings Injured in North Forsyth Crash

A brother and sister from Cumming were in stable condition following a single-vehicle crash on Friday.

A brother and sister were both injured Friday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in north Forsyth County, according to authorities.

Sgt. Chris Shelton of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said the wreck happened around 12:23 p.m. on Mount Tabor Road.

Edward Donald Anderson, 33, and Penny Susan Anderson, 29, both of Cumming, were traveling westbound on Mount Tabor Road in a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass when the vehicle left the roadway.

Sgt. Shelton said Anderson, the brother, was driving and tried to get back on the roadway, but that he over corrected, which caused the Oldsmobile to slide more than 310 feet across both west and eastbound lanes. The vehicle then struck a large pine tree, spun around and struck another cluster of trees before it came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

The impact ejected Anderson, the brother, from the car. His sister, who was sitting next to him in the front, was thrown into the rear seat of the vehicle.

Neither Anderson nor his sister was wearing a seatbelt.

The Andersons were taken to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell where they are currently listed in stable condition as of this writing.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factor in the collision.

But Sgt. Shelton said that Anderson, the brother, will be charged with driving while his license was suspended, having no insurance, suspended registration, driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane.
