Will You Be Que'n in Cumming?
BBQ? Bar-b-que? Barbecue? No matter how you spell it, it means competition.
Looking for something fun and tasty? Check out Que’n in Cumming, slated for Nov. 19 and 20 at the . The two-day event is open to the public and is part of the Georgia Barbeque Championship series. This competition is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
“The City of Cumming Fairgrounds is a world-class facility for a barbeque cook-off. We are excited to bring this event to our community and showcase it to the Barbeque Circuit,” said Randall Bowman, Chairman of The National BBQ Cup. “We anticipate a very successful event and look forward to supporting our local charities as a result.”
With prize money of an estimated $21,350.00 at stake, more than 90 professionals from all over the United States are expected to attend and professional ‘wannabes’ are encouraged to participate in the Backyard Division.

The event will offer something for everyone with a kid’s zone, arts and crafts and non-barbeque vendors. Admission is $5 daily (under 12 free) and proceeds benefit Bald Ridge Lodge, Jesse’s House, and Forsyth Community Connection. For an additional $5 attendees will be allowed to participate in the taste-testing and vote for the “People’s Choice” champ.
Music will be provided by Angela Rain, Kurt Thomas, The Internationals, Richard Griffith Band, The Josh Daniels Band, Tanna Key, Jeremy Herren, and Jordan Rager.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
