Woodall Votes to Repeal Obamacare

Rep. Rob Woodall (R-GA-07) speaks out on the "Repeal of Obamacare Act."

This week the U.S. House of Representatives passed the “Repeal of ObamaCare Act."

Rep. Rob Woodall (R-GA-07), who is a co-sponsor of the act and seeking a second term in U.S. Congress, issued the following statement.

“In the eighteen months that I have served in Congress, the House of Representatives has voted 30 times to repeal President Obama’s health care take over. Today’s [July 11] vote was repeal attempt number 31. The President and his Democrat colleagues want us to throw in the towel saying, ‘Alright, already. The Supreme Court has ruled, now it’s time to move on.’ The fact of the matter is, however, the Supreme Court does not have the final say—the American people do. And the U.S. House of Representatives—the representational body closest to the American people—continues to speak for the people. My constituents in the Seventh District of Georgia do not want me to ‘move on,’ leaving ObamaCare as the law of the land, and it’s clear from the passage of 31 repeal bills in the House that the majority of Americans and their representatives feel the same way. Today [July 11], the House offered yet another opportunity for the Senate and the President to heed the will of the American people. The President and the Senate ignored the first 30 repeal bills that we have sent them, and they may ignore this one too, but they cannot ignore the American people forever. In November, the American people will make their voices heard, and that will be the final say on this national health care bill.”
