Through the second quarter of this year, the number of home sales in Forsyth County was up 7.5 percent from the same period in 2011. July then had an increase of 14 percent, but August had a decrease of 14 percent.
So what does this mean?
The primary reason for the decrease is because of low inventory. There are fewer homes available for buyers to look at. There are a growing number of buyers in the market just waiting for a home that matches their criteria. This is great news for homeowners who are considering selling their house. Now is the best time to sell a home since 2008 - at least! As proof, the first two homes we listed this month both went under contract in less than 10 days. The third one we listed on Friday had five showings over the weekend.
Next week we will start discussing Short Sales.
