More About Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Co.
The Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Co. has three metro area locations, including this one inside The Warehouse, toward the back of the Midway Family Festival shopping center. This coffee house is run primarily by teenagers and young adults, but it's popular with people of all ages in need of a pick-me-up on the way to work. The shop's motto is "Drink Coffee. Do Good." In keeping with this mission, the owner uses fair trade to secure naturally grown, 100-percent Arabica coffee beans from farms in Rwanda, which are shipped to Georgia and small-batch roasted for premium flavor. Land of a Thousand Hills encourages you to be active in fighting poverty through its "Do Good" fund, which provides money to orphans for housing, transportation and education. You can also sign up for the shop's Coffee Club and have beans delivered, or even go along on a trip to visit Rwandan coffee farms. But it's not all serious business here—kids come together to socialize and have fun while their parents chat with lattes, and on Tuesdays the shop holds Trivia Night. There is also occasional live music hosted, and free meeting rooms are available for private events. Be sure to stop in on weekday mornings between 7am and 10am to get your coffee for a dollar!
