 1860 census\, and in Vickery Creek in the 1880 Census.&nbsp\; Our speake
 r\, local attorney Phill Bettis\, is a direct descendant of this antebel
 lum gunsmith and he has carefully built an outstanding collection of ori
 ginal Bettis Rifles.\nThe Sons of Confederate Veterans meets on the 4th 
 Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Bell Research Center. &nbsp\;The 
 public is welcome.
