Forsyth's First Drug Awareness Summit Tonight

Former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz is the keynote speaker of the event in Cumming.


The first Forsyth County Drug Awareness Summit is tonight at 7 at the Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Technical College. 

Organizers, which include local government, court and law enforcement officials, say it will:

  • Educate parents about the drugs being used by teens in the county,
  • Teach parents ways they can help safeguard against teen drug use and
  • Give tips on how to spot potential drug problems and how to assist in recovery. 
Among those slated to take part in the event are sports announcer, former Atlanta Braves pitcher and Cy Young Award recipient John Smoltz and Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper.
