Forsyth Central Dance Team 2nd in State; Try-outs 4/21-24

The Dance Dawgs ended their season with a 2nd place win at the Universal Dance Association GA Competition, competing against 24 other high schools. It was a bittersweet win, with 4 seniors competing for the last time in their high school career.

“It was the best they have performed all year long, and I am very proud of what they accomplished,” said Coach Autumn Morgenstern.

The team competed at 4 regional dance invitationals this year. Amongst stiff competition from so many high schools at each competition, Central's dance team made their name known this year with mostly 2nd place wins.

"The disappointment of not coming in first is always in the back of our minds, but we are very proud of what we accomplished - we really held our own, especially when it came to being scored against much larger teams in the same category," says Captain Ashley Goldston.

They are not done completely yet, however. The team is in recruiting mode for Central incoming freshman through Juniors, and the current Dance Dawg Seniors will prepare to run the tryouts on April 21-24.

Many congratulations to the FCHS Dance Dawgs on a job well done this season! The team also wishes to thank everyone who has contributed support by attending the various fundraisers, by sponsoring a student or the team in any way, and also support from the various press.
