Ga. Senate Candidate Jack Schiff Speaker at Workforce Forsyth Event at Lanier Tech

CUMMING, Ga. -- Republican Jack Schiff, a local businessman running for the District 27 seat in the Georgia Senate, was one of the guest speakers at Thursday's Workforce Forsyth event at Lanier Technical College.

Workforce Forsyth is an initiative of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and Forsyth County school system. The objective is to change the job market outlook for high school and college graduates from strictly academic to a more market-based approach, particularly in the area of technology and manufacturing.

Schiff has a special interest in education and has been actively engaged in helping Forsyth County students achieve their goals. He is the Founder of Rewarding Minds (www.rewardingminds.org), a nonprofit that helps academically high-achieving high school students bridge the digital divide by providing computers, software and printers they may lack.

“Forsyth County is fortunate to have an outstanding school system, great teachers and wonderful administrators who serve our students with unconditional commitment," Schiff said.

"The Workforce Development program is another building block for our students to have a meaningful pathway for careers within our county.  You don’t have to go outside Forsyth to gain the skills needed in almost every field of study.  With partners like Lanier Tech and North Georgia College in our backyard we have the opportunity to retain top talent within Forsyth County and within Georgia.”

Schiff, is a member of Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce and serves as an advisor to the Workforce Development board.
