Republican Jack Schiff Enters State Senate Race

CUMMING – When the Forsyth County Tea Party Candidate Debate started on Monday, Jack Schiff was one of more than 150 concerned citizens in the audience. By the time the debate was over, Schiff had firmly decided to enter the race as the candidate for State Senate representing District 27.

“Forsyth County, along with the State of Georgia, is crying out for qualified leaders to step forward and be the voice of the people and for the people," he said. "As a homeowner, husband and concerned citizen I just didn’t see the passion or level of leadership I was expecting during this debate. It was one of the most important events in our county as our eyes turn toward the 2014 election and I didn’t get what I came for.”

Schiff added, "For month’s people all across our county have reached out and asked me to consider running for the District 27 Senate seat. Our family took these requests seriously and we conducted an informal poll to see if the people of Forsyth wanted or expected a change. The answer was yes. After speaking with the incumbent and the challenger prior to the debate about the things that really matter in our county and state, seeing the outcome of the debate, or lack thereof, it was clear to me that the people of Forsyth would welcome a rock solid passionate conservative candidate to the race. So tonight it was clear to announce my candidacy for State Senate."

Schiff has proven himself to be a fiscal conservative by working with small business and large multi-national companies to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, build better products and deliver high quality services. This experience brings proof to the campaign that he has the experience and will focus on reducing administrative costs, improve services for citizens of our county and state by supporting regulations and laws that spend our tax dollars wisely.

He is also Founder and Chairman of the Board for Rewarding Minds, a Forsyth County-based nonprofit that provides academically high-achieving high school juniors and seniors with computers, software and printers in an effort to help bridge the digital divide. Rewarding Minds has grown by 400 percent since its first gifting to the class of 2012. Rewarding Minds was recognized and presented with the “Friends of the School” award from the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce in 2013.

Schiff holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Florida Florida Southern College where he graduated cum laude. Schiff completed advanced course work at Villanova University where he received his credentials as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in Business Process Engineering.
