Zereini Welcomes Challenger to Solicitor Race


CUMMING, Ga. — Susan Zereini, the Republican candidate for Forsyth County Solicitor-General, welcomed challenger William Finch to the campaign.

"The purpose of the election is to provide  Forsyth County with the best and most effective Solicitor-General," Zereini said. "Of course, I believe I am that person, but I trust the voters of this county to make the right decision and the more choices they have, the better. So, I welcome him to the race."

Zereini is a veteran prosecutor with 13 years' of prosecutorial experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. John’s University and a Jurist Doctorate from New England School of Law.

In 2000, Zereini served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York where she prosecuted thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases including homicides.

In 2005, she became a Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Gang Bureau and worked her way up to become Deputy Bureau Chief where she trained and supervised Assistant District Attorneys.

She and her family moved to Georgia in 2009 where she worked as Senior Assistant Solicitor General in the Cherokee County Solicitor’s Office.

In 2011, she was part of the team that created the first Misdemeanor Drug Court in the State of Georgia. She currently runs her own law practice.
