Successful Recycling Event for County

Forsyth County residents recycled more than 8,700 Christmas trees.

This year's “Bring One for the Chipper” event was a huge success with more than 8,700 Christmas trees recycled in the county.

The amount of trees that were recycled surpassed the expectations of organizers of Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB).

Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright extended her thanks to Davey Tree Company, and Forsyth County Roads and Bridges for providing chipping services for the trees. Wright also thanks all volunteers who provided time and leadership at the tree recycling locations throughout the county and all those who participated in the tree recycling effort.

In 1994 the county began participating in the event and since that time residents have recycled more than 78,000 trees.
