Cumming Church Offers Warm Place To Sleep in Frigid Temps
Highlands Church is located at 433 Canton Road.
A Cumming church is opening its doors to those in the Forsyth County and surrounding areas who need a warm place to sleep with coming frigid temperatures.
Highlands Church at 433 Canton Road will be open Thursday and Friday from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. for "any and all that are seeking a warm place to be or sleep during these abnormally cold nights," said representative Robin Schmitz. "Whether its a broken furnace, or a lack of home that is causing this need we are welcoming any and all."
The low Thursday night is expected to dip to 10 to 14 and Friday night around 20.
The warm place to stay or sleep at Highlands Church is free to all, Schmitz added.
The church also is accepting donations of bedding, water, food and other items.
