Cumming Lights Up the Sky Tonight

The City of Cumming throws a Fourth of July party!

The City of Cumming throws its annual Fourth of July Celebration Tonight.

The Independence Day Celebration begins at 6 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds with various vendors including food and drink, inflatables for kids, music provided by local band, Feedback playing classic rock and country beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The fireworks show, provided by Pyrotechnico, will start shooting off at 9:30 p.m. Tracy Helms, events coordinator with the fairgrounds, told Cumming Patch the fireworks will last about 20 to 30 minutes. Immediately following the fireworks will be a dance contest for all ages. There is no admission or parking fee for the July 3rd celebration, but parking spaces are limited.

Helms said the city is expecting anywhere from 6,000 to 7,000 people tonight. Bring your blanket, sit out on the lawn and enjoy the festivities.

On July 4th come and enjoy the famous 54th annual Steam Engine Parade beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will include steam engines, antique tractors, antique cars and many other floats decorated in the spirit of the holiday, lasting about two hours.

According to the City of Cumming, the parade will start at the intersection of Tribble Gap and Woodland Drive and can be seen coming down Tribble Gap from Forsyth Central High School ending at the fairgrounds.
