Redbox Ups Their DVD Rental Price

Have you noticed the price increase for a DVD rental at your local Cumming Redbox kiosk?

Just like almost everything else these days, the DVD rental price at the local has gone up.

The daily rental charge for DVDs is now $1.20, goodbye dollar movies.

"The price change is due to rising operating expenses, including new increases in debit card fees," the company news release stated. "This marks our first price change in more than eight years as we work hard to keep prices low for our customers."

But Redbox is trying to ease the pain of the price increase by discounting the first day of all online DVD rentals to $1.00 from now until Nov. 30, though additional rental days will be $1.20.

Daily rental charges for Blu-ray™ Discs and video games won't change, according to the release.
