First Day of Autumn is Sept. 22

Are you looking forward to the fall weather?

Pumpkin spice lattes, cinnamon brooms, orange and yellow leaves ... It's officially autumn time.

The first day of the new season is this Saturday, Sept. 22. Are you ready for the cooler weather?

Many out there are probably making a sigh of relief, because it's been one hot summer in Forsyth County. With the season's temperatures reaching as high as 102 degrees, many will welcome cooler weather with open arms.

It seems like the past two weeks have brought the area a sneak peek of what the fall weather may be like, with temperatures dipping in the 80s and 70s.

And the weather's staying that way for the first day of fall, too. According to the National Weather Service, the high is 84 degrees and the low is 56 on Saturday. While the day is predicted to be mostly sunny, there is a 20 percent chance of precipitation for the evening. Sunday's high reaching around 75.
