Forsyth County Water Quality Meets Standards
In 2011, the year covered by the report, the water from your tap met all EPA and state drinking water health standards.
This week you'll notice more than just your monthly water bill – the 2012 Water Quality Report will also be included to those Forsyth County water and sewer customers.
The report provides information from 2011 on where the county’s water comes from, what it contains and how it compares to standards set by the regulatory agencies.
The good news is that Forsyth County’s water met all U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state drinking water health standards in 2011.

“The Water and Sewer Department takes a great deal of pride in providing Forsyth County the highest quality of water and sewer service,” said Tim Perkins, director of Water and Sewer in a news release. “We are pleased to present this annual Water Quality Report to our customers.”
According to the report, more than 1,300 tests are conducted annually by the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Forsyth County to ensure customers have safe drinking water.

These tests monitor tap water for organisms and mineral and organic substances that could cause disease or other adverse health effects. Testing is done for over 100 different contaminants including bacteria, metals, nitrates and pesticides.
