Forsyth Man Dubbed Senior Champion of the Year

Ted Borzak was given the honor during the state agency's June 5 awards banquet in Macon.

A Forsyth County Man has been named the Division of Aging Services of Georgia's Senior Champion of the Year.

Ted Borzak was given the honor during the state agency's June 5 awards banquet in Macon. He was presented the recognition by representatives from the Forsyth County Senior Services department. 

The county agency had nominated Borzak to receive the honor after his participation in programs such as the county's senior hiking club.

“This is a tremendous honor for Mr. Borzak and we are very proud DAS has chosen him to receive the award,” said Forsyth County Senior Services Director Michael Bohn. “Senior Services provides a wide variety of programs and activities to enrich the lives of the older adults in our community. Mr. Borzak is a great example of someone taking advantage of these offerings and really living life to its fullest.”

Forsyth County is one of 13 counties in Legacy Link’s region, and Legacy Link selected Borzak to represent their region at the state level. Once he was selected by Legacy Link, it was up to DAS to choose who among the nominees in the 12 regions would receive the designation.

The criteria for the award included having a positive attitude, being smoke free, being physically active and eating healthy.
