Forsyth County Public Library is excited to announce the availability of thousands of movies, television shows, music albums and audiobooks, available for mobile and online access through a new service with hoopla digital. All patrons need is a valid library card and email address.

Starting on May 14, patrons can install the free hoopla digital app on smartphones and mobile devices or visit the hoopladigital.com website on a computer to instantly stream or temporarily download up to five hoopla selections per month. Movies and television episodes are available for a three-day checkout, music albums are available for a seven-day checkout, and audiobooks are available for a 21-day checkout.

Most excitedly, all content is available simultaneously – no request lists – and all content will automatically return at the end of the checkout period – no late fees. hoopla digital has a simple sign-up and attractive, easy-to-use interface, so it’s easy to get to your listening and viewing experience. There’s no more guessing which content works on which device; it simply is a two-click process – borrow and play!

Linda Kelly, the FCPL Assistant Director for Material Services, said, “We are so excited to be able to provide this new offering to our patrons. For years, people have asked for digital movies and music, and now we have it! It’s so easy to use and provides simultaneous use for everything – there’s no waiting!  We are sure our patrons will embrace hoopla as much as other library patrons across the country already do. There’s something for everyone with hoopla!”

As Forsyth County continues to grow, it our pleasure to offer digital selections to our diverse community of patrons. Besides Hollywood blockbusters and new releases from popular authors and musical artists, hoopla offers foreign films in Spanish, French and Chinese, as well as educational materials, children’s materials, documentaries, fitness videos, and more. FCPL is currently the third library in the state to offer hoopla digital, a service of Midwest Tape, a trusted partner to public libraries for over 20 years.
