Forsyth Senior Services Host Sock Hop

Forsyth County Senior Services invites residents for a trip back in time at Sexton Hall.

This weekend will host a Sock Hop at the newly opened for residents 40 and older.

“We expect this will be a very special night and will be full of exciting surprises attendees will never forget,” said Senior Services Interim Director Valerie Rhoads in a news release.

Residents are invited to turn back the clocks and take off their shoes for this fun event on Saturday, May 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. You can expect classic sock hop diner food, dancing, entertainment and many special surprises.

“We are all really looking forward to this event and are encouraging everyone who attends to dress in 1950's and 60's attire," said Rhoads.

Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased with cash or check at the following locations:

  • Sexton Hall Enrichment Center, 2115 Chloe Road
  • Center at Charles Place, 595 Dahlonega Highway
  • Hearthstone Lodge Community Center, 7305 Lanier Drive

Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $25 and are non-refundable.

, which opened last September, is located at 2115 Chloe Road, just off of Sharon Road between Peachtree Parkway and Old Atlanta Road (formerly the location of Lakeland Community Church).
