Forsyth Students Showcase Earth Day Posters

The annual Earth Day Every Day Student Poster Tour is on displayed in downtown Cumming through the end of April.

The annual Earth Day Every Day Student Poster Tour is currently on display in the atrium of the Forsyth County Administration Building located at 110 East Main Street in Cumming through Monday, April 30.

According to Pro Earth, an environmentally civic organization and host of the poster tour, nine Forsyth County schools took part this year, submitting hundreds of Earth Day posters. A total of 37 student winners were chosen. Those students and 11 teachers received prize packs that include two tree seedlings, garden seed packs, educational materials and sweet treats.

The top two posters chosen from each student group go on tour and the remainder of posters goes out into the community.

"You may see a student poster at the corner store or gas station, all the posters are great expressions from our youngsters and we hope you think about Earth Day…often," said Pat Plant of Pro Earth in an e-mail.

The tour is also available to businesses for display throughout the month of June.
