Get Out Cumming: Fundraisers and Food Fest

Plenty to do this weekend from the Relay for Life event, fundraiser for the Humane Society of Forsyth County to an annual food festival.

Cumming Patch provides a selection of events and activities to help you get out there and make the most of your free time, whatever your aim. Enjoy!

Where/When: Old Milton Pkwy & Wills Rd, Alpharetta, (Wills Park), Thursday, May 12, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy the largest "Taste of" event in the south celebrate its 21st year. Sample delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts, experience chef's competition, cooking demonstrations and exhibits from more than 60 different restaurants.

Price: Free admission, parking and shuttles.


Relay For Life

Where/When: City of Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road, Friday, May 13, 5:30 p.m. through Saturday, May 14, 6 a.m.

Why Go: According to The American Cancer Society, Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

Price: $10 registration/commitment fee (per person), due upon registration.

Where/When: Stars & Strikes Family Entertainment Center, 133 Merchants Square, Saturday, May 14, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: Be a Community Star by helping “Mentor Me” (a 501c3 non-profit) bring the magic of mentoring to kids. Everyone is welcome. This is their largest annual fundraiser. There will be lots of prizes this year for those who collect a certain number of pledges.

Price: Collect pledges and/or recruit teams.

Where/When: 416 Dahlonega St, Cumming, Saturday, May 14, noon - 3 p.m.

Why Go: There is nothing better than seeing children play in the mud, get dirty and not get into trouble for doing it! Capture some of the best childhood memories of your children in pictures that you will cherish for a lifetime!

Price: Session Fee is $35.00, Packages start at $99.00.

Price: $35 pp includes 2 hrs of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and T-shirt.


Until They All Have A Home - Monte Carlo Night (fundraiser)

Where/When: Stars & Strikes Family Entertainment Center, 133 Merchants Square, Saturday, May 14, 6:30 p.m. - midnight, games begin at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society of Forsyth County, a no-kill shelter. With many prizes up for grabs: 40” Plasma TV, Gucci Sunglasses, Diamond/Platinum Watch, Art work, Jewelry, gift baskets/certificates, Cash and much more!!

Price: $20 to Observe & Hors d’ouevre, $75 to Play & Party, Hors d’ouevres, and two Drinks, $30 for additional (unlimited) buy-in’s.

Where/When: , 101 School St, Cumming, now through Saturday, May 14 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: M*A*S*H stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, and joining it are two unpredictable madcaps, Hawkeye and Duke. If you loved the TV series or movie, you'll love this family friendly play!

Price: $15 - $20

Where/When: , 9135 Willeo Rd, Roswell, Saturday May 14, 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Why Go: Are you ready to start paddling but not sure of where to start? Join the Chattahoochee Nature Center to discover the basics of canoeing including boat basics and paddling techniques. Spend some time on one of the CNC’s ponds to practice your skills.

Price: $15 Non-Members/$10 Members
