Kids Corner: Tanglewood Farm

Take the kids on a short drive to Canton and enjoy ten acres of tiny critters!

Kids love animals, but they really love little animals. That's why Tanglewood Farm in Canton (only 16 miles from downtown Cumming) is so much fun - all the animals are miniature!

Take a step back into 1800 in Tanglewood's Wild West Town, home to more than 100 miniature animals. From cows to horses and sheep to goats, the critters here are pint-size, which means it's often less overwhelming for kids than being mobbed by normal farm animals. Even the cats and dogs are miniature and the pigs are the size of pillows. Plus, when can you ever brag that you've seen a miniature turkey?Β

Tanglewood is celebrating Harvestfest during November and kids can take a hayride, see a miniature buffalo, hunt for arrowheads and ride an Appaloosa pony. The farm is open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for ages one and up. Tours, educational programs and pony rides are available. The farm prefers reservations for groups of 20 or more. They also have picnic tables, should you get hungry.

We recommend against Angus sliders, because that makes the miniature cows nervous.
