Maintenance Work Affects GA 400, Highway 306 in North Forsyth

Single lane closure through the work zone on Georgia 400 may slow traffic flow down this week.

Routine maintenance activities are planned for this week in Forsyth, Dawson and Hall counties, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Crews are scheduled to pick-up litter along Georgia 400 through Friday, March 1, weather permitting. This work will require a single lane closure through the work zone, which may cause brief delays. They will also be patching damaged asphalt on Highway 306 and Highway 9.

Teri Pope, spokesperson for the GDOT, said she did not have the exact locations of where crews will be working along the mentioned highways.

"It depends on the weather and how quickly they get their other assignments done for the week and which areas are trashiest," she said.

The same holds true for the repair work on Highway 306 and Highway 9.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. The GDOT reports that this is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.

In nearby counties, crews will be mowing Highway 53 west in Dawson County and ditch cleaning and repairs along Highway 52 and Highway 11. Crews will also be patching damaged asphalt on Highway 369, Highway 53 Connector, Highway 332 and Highway 211. The patching work will require a lane closure as the roadway is patched. Litter pickup is scheduled for Highway 365.

It is strongly advised that motorists reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
