Mobile Training Unit to Visit Cumming Library April 22

The Mobile Training Unit first visited the Forsyth County Public Library in November 2013. Due to the positive response of the visits, the Mobile Training Unit will continue to visit the library on a monthly basis.

In addition to the upcoming visit, the service will be offered to the community on Tuesday, May 20 and Tuesday, June 17. During each of their visits, the Mobile Training Unit staff will welcome patrons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a drop in basis.

Since June 2013, the Mobile Training Units and their operating team have assisted hundreds of individuals in job hunting. Serving Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties, the team has offered a unique learning opportunity by partnering with libraries, food banks, adult learning centers and various community organizations.

Micah Thomas, Mobile Training Unit Instructor from the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, notes, “The first question people ask when they see the Mobile Unit is, ‘What is this?’ and the last question they ask is, ‘When are you coming back?’”

The Mobile Training Unit will be set up outside of the Cumming Library on April 22 and patrons may drop to receive assistance. No advance registration is required to attend.
