Northside Offering Free Prostate Cancer Screenings

One of the most common diseases in men, prostate cancer is projected to affect nearly 6,700 people in Georgia this year, according to the National Cancer Institute.

To help raise awareness, Northside Hospital’s Cancer Institute will offer a free prostate cancer screening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at 211 Hospital Road in Canton.

As part of the screening, professionals will offer blood tests and rectal exams. Men with no health insurance between the ages 40 and 75 who aren't currently diagnosed with prostate cancer and haven’t had a prostate exam within the past year are eligible to participate, according to the Northside website.

Men planning to get a screening must call 404-845-5555 to make an appointment.
