Paws to Consider Your Pets of the Week, Aug. 20

Today is "Adoption Day" at Petco and Rucker Pet & Wild Bird.

(HSFC) introduces us to Spot and Layla, Cumming Patch's pets of the week.

Spot is a handsome man. A little over 2-years-old, he is a very low maintenance kitty. He lives at the campus with six roommates, and while he makes it work--he would prefer a home with maybe just one cat...or none at all! He loves to lay up high and check out the sights, but is quick to come down for some affection or treats. Spot would love to meet you. Come by the campus and say hello.

Layla is a beautiful Rottie girl who is one-and-a-half-years-old. She is the sweetest giant you could ask for. Layla is housebroken and good with other dogs and children (though she is strong) and loves cats, but wants to play with them--and sometimes they cannot appreciate that.  She is a precious, gentle soul who deserves to have a loving home where she will be treated like a princess.

A call for help from the shelter--the campus on 4440 Keith Bridge Road is in desperate need of cat litter and kitten food. Call 770-887-6480 to find out how you can donate the much needed items.

During these hot summer days, if possible keep your pet indoors. If they must be left outdoors, make sure your pet has shade and plenty of water to stay hydrated (click for more tips).
