Rain, Wind and Cooler Temps in Cumming this Weekend

Here's what the National Weather Service says we can expect over the weekend.

Exchange the shorts and t-shirts this weekend for light jackets and rain boots - forecasters are promising somewhat chilly, wet weather in Cumming.

According to the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook, a front from the west will bring widespread showers throughout north Georgia beginning Friday night, through the weekend into Sunday. Strong winds are possible within the system, but no thunderstorms are expected. Rainfall could reach up to two inches in certain areas.

The local forecast for Cumming shows cloudy weather will stick around, with temperatures dropping into the mid 50s tonight and wind gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.

Friday's forecast shows a 20 percent chance of showers, with a high near 68 degrees and gusts as high as 30 miles per hour. The chance of showers grows to 50 percent by Friday night, with a low around 53.

By Saturday there's a 50 percent chance of showers, with a high near 61 and winds again gusting as high as 25 miles per hour. Lows that night are expected to dip into the upper 40s as our chance of showers continues.

Monday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high in the upper 60s and a 30 percent chance of rain.
