Rivers Alive Event a Success

More than 200 pounds of debris was collected during the day long event.

It was another successful event for Forsyth County as more than 120 volunteers gathered together for the recent Rivers Alive cleanup.

At least 200 pounds of debris was collected from along local waterways. The volunteers also filled 75 bags of trash found in 11 different areas along Lake Lanier and local creeks.

β€œWe are appreciative of all of the volunteers who came out to make a difference in our community and the environment,” said Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright.

She also extended a special thanks to the city of Cumming for providing food for the volunteers.

The event, held on Nov. 3, was sponsored by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful.
