Road Work Continues in Forsyth, Nearby Counties

This is the third week GDOT crews have been out and about repairing sections of Highway 20 in Forsyth County.

Roadwork on Highway 20 in northwest Forsyth County continues this week as maintenance crews with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) patch damaged asphalt.

You'll notice the roadwork taking place from Tower Road toward Cumming to Pine Lake Drive and in the reverse direction, according to Teri Pope of GA DOT.

"This work will require a single lane closure through the work zone," she said.

Weather permitting, scheduled work hours are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 22. If emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.

Crews are also cleaning, repairing and restoring ditches on Highway 136 in Dawson County. They're also cleaning and repairing the shoulders along Highway 52, 332 and 284 in Hall County, while Highway 283 is restriped in faded areas. The restriping project will require a lane closure as crews work.

Motorists are urged to reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
