Second Case of Rabies Reported in Forsyth

So far, it's the second case of rabies reported in Forsyth County this year.

A fox that was involved with two dogs has tested positive for rabies, according to authorities.

Sgt. Debra Frampton of the Forsyth County Animal Control Unit said on April 16 two dogs belonging to a resident on Hickory Trail, which is located off Chamblee Gap Road, northwest of downtown Cumming, became "tangled up" with a fox. After the dog's owner killed the fox, the resident took the wild animal along with the dogs, to a veterinarian. The fox was tested and the results revealed it had rabies. Meanwhile, the dogs were revaccinated.

The sheriff's office reports that no humans were attacked or injured by the fox.
