State Route 400 Shoulders To Close for Mowing

Crews are set to work Monday, Nov. 4, through Friday, Nov. 8. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., if weather permits.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced plans for routine maintenance activities this week in Forsyth and area counties, if weather permits, according to the press release.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. Following is a tentative schedule; if emergency response is needed at a crash scene or if emergency repairs are necessary this schedule will change.

Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, and a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.

Maintenance activities in the listed counties are set as follows:

Forsyth: Crews will regrade the shoulders of State Route 400 to ensure proper drainage from the roadway. The shoulders of SR 400 will be closed as this work occurs.

Dawson: A crew will mow SR 136 while another crew removes damaged asphalt and repaves SR 9. A lane closure will be required daily as this work occurs.

Gwinnett: A crew will repair broken fences along the Interstate 85 right-of-way line while another crew trims vegetation on SR 8/U.S. 29

Hall: A crew will seal cracks in the asphalt on SR 53/Winder Highway daily while another crew re-stripes faded pavement markings on SR 332. Lane closures will be required as this work occurs on SR 53/Winder Highway and SR 332.

Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
