UPDATE: Damaging Winds, Flooding, Tornadoes Possible
Severe storms and heavy rainfall are possible as a strong storm system and cold front move across north and central Georgia.

A wind advisory, which warns of gusts up to 40 mph, which can make driving difficult, is in effect through midnight for most of north and central Georgia, including Cumming and Forsyth County.
A tornado watch also is in effect until 4 p.m., including Forsyth County.

"Showers and a few thunderstorms will accompany these winds, but it should be noted that very strong winds will be possible outside of any shower or thunderstorm activity as well," the advisory says. "Recent rains and the additional heavy rainfall anticipated from this system will allow for trees to be uprooted with greater ease."
A squall line capable of producing widespread damaging winds and isolated tornadoes is expected to cross the area Wednesday night, according to NWS' hazardous weather outlook. Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rainfall also can be expected with thunderstorms.
Cumming has on tap for Wednesday a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, according to the NWS forecast. The high should reach 64 and gusts of wind could be up to 30 mph before the low Wednesday night dips to around 35 and the windy weather tapers off.
