Band of Horses Opens Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Concert Season in Alpharetta

Tickets remain on sale for this performance, with The Jayhawks and Ed Roland & the Sweet Tea Project also on the bill.

The box office is open and you can still buy tickets to see Band of Horses at today as the venue opens its concert season.

Today is the annual dave-fm Earth Day Birthday concert, with show time at 7 p.m. The parking lots open at 5 p.m., and the gates at 6 p.m. The box office will be open until 30 minutes after Band of Horses takes the stage. But don't wait that late or you'll miss The Jayhawks and Ed Roland & the Sweet Tea Project. Buy online through vzwamp.com or Ticketmaster outlets.

The Charleston, SC-based Band of Horses is touring on the strength of four albums, including Infinite Arms, which was released in May 2010.

The Jayhawks formed in the mid-1980s, and once had their music described as "Hank Williams on speed." It's been a few years and now the group has had its classic album reissued.

Ed Roland of Collective Soul debuts The Sweet Tea Project tonight as well.

After a Good Friday concert on April 22, the next performance at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater is scheduled for May 5, the Project 9-6-1 Cinco Party concert. Performing that night will be Avenged Sevenfold with Seether & Alterbridge.

Zac Brown Band follows with concerts on both May 6 and May 7.

Just announced this week is a performance by Miranda Lambert with Josh Kelly & Ashton Shepherd. Tickets will go on sale next Friday, April 8.

The remaining concerts scheduled–so far–are Phish on June 14-15 and Dolly Parton on Aug. 3.
