The Speakeasy Cocktail Festival

Ladies strap on your Mary Janes, Gents slide on your fedora and do the Charleston all the way until you find yourself in Atlanta at The Speakeasy Cocktail Festival. Labor Day Weekend the Georgia World Congress Center, co-producers of the event, will re-create a roaring 20s atmosphere making all in attendance nostalgic for the magic of the Prohibition Era. This multi-day extravaganza is passionate about generating a deep appreciation for an era that is the basis of the cocktail culture today. The festival gala will transpire over two days and is sure to be one 1920s party so swanky the Fitzgeralds wouldn’t be able to stay away.

The free tastings will be all the rage at the Gala with The Liquid Lounge—featuring beer, wine and cocktail tasting pavilions— and The Culinary Corner. Each station will feature the best in Georgia’s southern culinary scene and an array of blends, brews and wines that will appeal to any expert or beginning connoisseur. Continuing with the liquid theme, there will be a Makers & Shakers Mixology Championship for the best in the industry competing for their signature concoction to be featured in the Georgia Dome. Apart from tastings, the 20s inspired entertainment is a backdrop to The Back Room Charity Poker Tournament and Casino Lounge providing an aura of Prohibition gambling while The Pool Hall Lounge offers an opportunity for impromptu competition. The Cigar Lounge is the final piece for this ritzy event. Festival goers can learn about cigar culture from vendors, allowing them to have tasted, played and now smelled the aroma of the roaring 20s.
