Fine Art Photography Exhibit This Weekend

Fine art photography event opens this weekend at Sexton Hall Enrichment Center this weekend.

The Sawnee Artists Association (SAA) presents the third annual "Through The Lens," a juried exhibit and sale of fine art photography by some of Georgia's most talented photographers.

The SAA juror is Michael Schwarz, a well-known Atlanta area editorial and corporate photographer.

Twenty-seven photographers are represented in this year's show with a total of 76 great photographs depicting the theme "Life In the Southern Appalachians."

"Through The Lens" is the first and continues to be the only fine art photography exhibit in Forsyth County. The purpose is to increase interest in photography as an art medium and to inspire viewers to explore their own photographic creativity.

 in south Forsyth County is hosting the event located at 2115 Chloe Road, just off of Sharon Road between Peachtree Parkway and Old Atlanta Road (formerly the location of Lakeland Community Church).

Show hours are follows:

  • Saturday, Sept. 8, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 9, noon - 5 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday, Sept. 10-14, 10a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 16, noon - 5 p.m. 

The event is free to the public. As visitors walk through the exhibit, they will become immersed in the beauty of the Southern Appalachians through the lens of the photographers.
