Which Theater of the Stars Show Shined Brightest?

With the closing of the more than six decade old Theater of the Stars, Broadway in Atlanta now is the only company currently slated to bring Broadway shows to the heart of the city.

A little more than a month after announcing, Theater of the Stars announced this week that is was closing for good.

The decision, made in the face of a troubled economy that resulted in underperforming seasons for the past several years, comes after bringing the best of Broadway to Atlanta for more than six decades.

Action steps are in the works to liquidate and wind down the Midtown-based organization. Subscriber’s refunds will be an important part of the closing process as the company pays off debts as quickly and efficiently as it is able.

“We’ve had a great run,” Theater of the Stars Vice President, Brian D. Frey said in a statement. “We could not be more grateful to our many patrons and supporters who have been a part of our family over the years. We hate to say ‘goodbye.’ It was a very difficult decision for all involved.”
