Coffee for a Cause

RaceTrac is combining Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with National Coffee Day to raise funds for Camp Sunshine.

In honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, RaceTrac stores throughout Georgia are using the occasion to benefit the children and families who attend Camp Sunshine.

“Throughout the month of September, RaceTrac guests have been invited to add $1 to their purchases as a donation to the organization,” said Terrica Oglesby, marketing programs manager for RaceTrac. “Beginning this Sunday, Sept. 23, all funds from coffee purchases through Saturday, Sept. 29, will go directly to Camp Sunshine as well.”

Oglesby said this is the third year that RaceTrac has operated the program.

“We were able to raise more than $35,000 last year to help send kids with cancer and their families to camp,” she said. “We’re excited to host this year’s effort during Childhood Cancer Awareness month, a time when most of our guests might be thinking about how they can make a difference.”

RaceTrac in Cumming is located at 888 Buford Road. The company is invited residents to pick up a cup of coffee and help send a child to Camp Sunshine.
