Area Kroger Stores Donate to Relay for Life
Over $184,000 was donated to the American Cancer Society's fundraiser.
Kroger customers and associates in its Atlanta Division – which includes Cumming area stores – contributed more than $184,000 to support the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay For Life campaign – an 8 percent increase from last year’s donations.
For two weeks in February, Kroger customers and associates at the 213 stores in Georgia, South Carolina, Northern Alabama and Eastern Tennessee purchased $1 “footprint” icons for Relay For Life, a signature fundraising event that takes place in more than 5,100 communities nationwide and abroad.
Stores in the Cumming area, include: 2345 Bethelview Road, 2655 Freedom Parkway and 1595 Peachtree Parkway.

"We are proud of the overwhelming generosity shown by our customers and associates throughout this campaign,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. "In just two short weeks, our community gave funds that will help support the families of our neighbors affected by cancer."
ACS is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Headquartered in Atlanta, ACS has 12-chartered divisions, more than 900 local offices nationwide and a presence in more than 5,100 communities.
